    The MDS Coordinator will develop treatment plans for patients that comply with MDS guidelines. They are responsible for completing the MDS paperwork, submitting it on time and making sure it is compliant with current regulations, which have the potential to change each year. They must properly understand the medical needs of residents they assess. How well residents functions, and what steps are being taken to support them. MDS coordinators then implement and monitor these care plans to ensure their effectiveness. They must also make sure all strategies comply with Medicare requirements and ethical standards.


    A candidate for this position should be accurate, concise, detail-oriented and able to work cooperatively as a member of a team. Also needed is the ability to organize, prioritize and communicate effectively with patients, their families and all levels of the organization. Should react decisively and quickly in emergency situations and maintain confidentiality. Knowledge of RAI requirements is required. Facilitate marketing and admissions by providing clinical input to other departments. Supervise, schedule and provide feedback to CNA staff to provide quality of care.


    Education/Certification: Current RN license in the state of Nebraska.


    Experience: At least one year nursing experience.


    Equipment/Technology: In addition to basic nursing tools and equipment, extensive computer skills are necessary. The ability to read and input data is required daily.


    Language/Communication: Must have the ability to effectively read, write, and speak English.


    Mental Capabilities: Able to define problems, collect data and deal with stressful situations in a tactful professional manner.


    Interpersonal: Work well with others.
