Overview

Promontory Healthcare Management is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our team. We develop and manage Transitional Care Units (TCUs) around the country in all types of markets. 

Responsibilities

  • Process and maintain all personnel records and files.
  • Review employee time and attendance reports for accuracy and completeness, make any necessary corrections. Ensure that payroll software contains correct employee information including social security number, job title, and status.
  • Coordinate the I-9 process including completion of the employer section of the form, verifying new hire employment eligibility, follow up on expired work authorizations and ensure that I-9 forms are completed and maintained in accordance with INS regulations.
  • Assist employees with leave requests and ensure that appropriate documentation is submitted to the Human Resources Department when departing / returning from leave.
  • Monitor employees on leave, receive/track benefit payments, and produce weekly reports of employees on leave status.

 

Qualifications

Education/Certification:  College level courses in accounting or business along with Associate's or Bachelor's degree are preferred.

                                      

Experience:  Two years of human resources or payroll experience preferred.

 

Equipment/Technology:  Must have basic computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel. Knowledge of computerized payroll and bookkeeping systems preferred.

 

Language/Communication:  Must have excellent communication and listening skills.  Must be able to understand a customer’s verbal and non-verbal cues.  Must posses business writing skills and practice superb phone etiquette.  Must have the ability to effectively read and communicate in English. 

 

Mathematical Skills:  Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide to calculate averages for monthly reports.

 

Mental Capabilities:  Must have the ability to prioritize multiple and competing customer and staff needs.

 

Interpersonal:   Must be able to communicate and work well with a diverse spectrum of co-workers and customers.  Will more likely succeed with a positive and conversational approach to people.
